MailTabs source changes committed September 24, 2026 focused on safer everyday mail handling. A later Sites version of the browser app was deployed successfully, but this note describes only the changes confirmed in the committed source.
Sending and composing
When a Gmail send fails, the compose window preserves its contents so the message can be reviewed and retried. Recipient validation and search were improved; suggestions draw from saved contacts and correspondents already seen in the mailbox.
Scheduled-send cancellation and failure reporting also received reliability work. A failure notification is meant to make a missed scheduled send visible rather than silently implying delivery.
Background sorting
Background sorting now paces requests within Gmail quota limits. That reduces pressure on the account while MailTabs indexes and organizes messages.
These are reliability changes to the deployed web app, not a new desktop installer or a claim that Google has approved unrestricted OAuth access.
