MailTabs changed its Google connection and first inbox load on September 19. The matching Site version was deployed on September 20, making the update available through the browser app.
A narrower Google request
The connection flow now asks for a narrower set of Google permissions aligned with the work MailTabs performs. The related cleanup path and safety checks were updated alongside the connection code.
Existing connected accounts may still be subject to Google’s normal consent and token rules; this change does not claim broader public OAuth approval.
A first inbox page that can recover
A brand-new sign-in may have no saved inbox page to show while MailTabs requests an initial batch from Gmail. If that batch fails, the app can request a smaller first page so the inbox has a useful recovery path.
Sort-count scanning and message loading were adjusted together to keep the fallback within the app’s request budget.
Live status
