GoodTV Launcher 1.0.16 expands the bundled offline Snoopy library to 65 catalogued 1080p clips and adds an optional double-Back screensaver shortcut. This is the October 20, 2026 signed release for Android TV and Fire TV.
Everyday scenes plus a Canadian-style seasonal calendar
Everyday scenes remain available all year. Spring runs March–May, summer June–August, autumn September–November, and winter November–March, with intentional shoulder-season overlaps. Halloween runs October 1–November 2, holidays December 1–January 6, New Year December 26–January 7, Valentine’s February 1–15, and Canada Day June 25–July 2. Canadian Thanksgiving runs from October 1 through two days after the second Monday in October.
Availability follows the local device date, not live weather or location. Automatic seasons · Canada is enabled by default under Interface → Wallpaper → Online & aerial backgrounds. Turn it off to unlock all clips year-round. The 65-clip collection covers the catalogued uploads, not every Apple animation or future scene.
Quick screensaver access and smooth handoffs
Double-press Back within 400 milliseconds on the main launcher screen to enter the background-only screensaver. A new button press wakes the interface. The shortcut is enabled by default and can be disabled in System → Screensaver Settings; Back in settings, dialogs, and other apps keeps its normal behavior.
Seasonal availability is checked at clip boundaries, so a date change does not interrupt the current video. Clips retain paused preloading, non-repeating shuffle, and the 0.8-second crossfade at the end. The existing Keep awake option remains available while GoodTV is open.
Updating, storage, and checks
The universal signed APK is about 567 MB, plus about 523 MB of app-owned video storage after extraction. Existing signed installations can update in place without clearing saved docks or settings. After updating, open Online & aerial backgrounds and select Snoopy once to extract and load the expanded collection.
68 automated tests passed with one pre-existing skipped test. Fire TV testing covered the 65-clip picker, seasonal toggle, double-Back shortcut, waking, and normal Back in settings. A roughly 79-second playback sample showed several clip changes without detected black intervals. This is not exhaustive testing of every clip pair or every TV model.
