PagePeace 1.1.0 is available on GitHub

The open-source content blocker has new Firefox and Chromium packages. The Chromium edition updates its Manifest V3 filtering engine and protection bundle; browser-store availability is separate from this GitHub release.

AvailabilityPublic GitHub release with manual-install packages; browser-store publication is not confirmed.

PagePeace 1.1.0 was built and released on GitHub on October 3, 2026 in Saskatchewan (October 4 UTC). This October 4 site note covers the public packages, what changed, and the difference between a GitHub download and a browser-store listing.

01

What changed in Chromium

The Chromium Manifest V3 edition incorporates newer upstream filtering-engine work and an updated default protection bundle. The release notes call out improved cosmetic filtering and scriptlet support, better imported-list performance, and custom-filter backup and restore.

The Standard, Strong, and Maximum choices remain the approachable way to select protection. Chromium’s Manifest V3 limits still apply; this is not the same engine or control set as the full Firefox edition.

02

Firefox and Chromium packages

The official GitHub release contains a PagePeace-branded Chromium MV3 ZIP and a PagePeace Plus Firefox MV2 XPI. Both package manifests report version 1.1.0. The local build files match the SHA-256 digests of those public release assets.

These are manual-install packages from the public release, not proof that either browser store has approved or published version 1.1.0. Check the browser store itself for its current listing and version before choosing that installation route.

03

Open-source foundation

PagePeace is an independent GPLv3 fork based on uBlock Origin and uBlock Origin Lite. The Firefox edition retains the fuller classic filtering controls; the Chromium edition follows browser-native MV3 rulesets. The release describes improvements to the fork and its upstream engine without claiming the two browser editions are identical.

04

Where to get it

The Good Tools PagePeace page links directly to the branded 1.1.0 assets in the official MadeByGoodTools GitHub release. These files were built locally on October 3 and uploaded to the release later that evening. As with any manually installed extension, check that the download comes from that official release before installing it.
