Nicely 1.0.3 waits for restored sessions

Nicely now waits for visible browser activity before opening the day’s note, preventing a restored Chromium session from hiding or interrupting its small daily moment.

AvailabilityVersion 1.0.3 is built for Chromium and its source is on GitHub. The latest public GitHub download remains 1.0.2 while the new package awaits release.

Nicely 1.0.3 changes when the daily note opens so a browser restoring yesterday’s windows has time to become usable first. It is a narrow reliability update built around the same promise: one gentle note, once each local day.

01

Why session restoration matters

Chromium browsers can restore windows and tabs while the extension background process is also starting. Opening Nicely during that restoration can place its note behind another window or interrupt the browser before the restored session has settled.

Version 1.0.3 waits for visible activity—a window receiving focus or a tab becoming active—before checking whether today’s note is due.

02

Record success after the note opens

Nicely now stores the current day only after the note tab has been created successfully. If opening the tab fails, the extension can try again on later activity instead of incorrectly deciding that the daily note has already appeared.

A small queue still prevents several browser events from producing duplicate notes. After a successful opening, Nicely remains quiet for the rest of the day.

03

Privacy remains unchanged

The extension still uses local browser storage for the last-opened day and saved notes. It has no account, advertising, analytics, tracking, or remote code.

Release status

The 1.0.3 Chromium package has been built and verified to contain the 1.0.3 manifest, and the source change is present on the public GitHub main branch.

The public GitHub Releases page still lists 1.0.2 as its newest downloadable release. Until 1.0.3 is formally published, the Good Tools product page continues to send visitors to the current 1.0.2 release rather than an unreleased local file.
