Nicely 1.0.1 is ready

Nicely’s calm daily-note experience was refined and packaged for Firefox and Chromium browsers, including reliable once-per-day behaviour when a browser restores an earlier window.

AvailabilityVersion 1.0.1 is available on Firefox and GitHub; Chromium can be installed manually from the release package.

Nicely 1.0.1 refined a very small promise: one warm note when the browser opens for the first time that day, followed by no pressure to keep engaging.

01

Exactly once each day

Nicely responds to both normal browser startup and restored-window behaviour. A serialized daily-opening check and local calendar-day lock prevent several restored windows from creating duplicate notes.

After that first moment, Nicely leaves the rest of the browsing day alone. A person can save a note, ask for another, or simply continue.

02

Calm, time-aware presentation

Morning, afternoon, evening, and night use different colours, greetings, notes, and mascot moods. Slow clouds respond gently to the pointer, while sparkles and mascot motion keep the page from feeling static.

Reduced-motion preferences are respected so the atmosphere does not come at the cost of comfort or accessibility.

03

Private by design

Saved notes and the last-opened date remain in browser-local storage. Nicely has no account, advertising, analytics, tracking, remote code, or external data collection.
